  • Dankium Marches On

My server was attacked delaying the submission of Dankium to the play store until I switched to high security cloud flare and content filters could download again. Someone wants to destroy or delay Dankium but I’m going to keep promoting it and working on it. I don’t know how low you have to go to attack a charity browser just starting up. A lot of people say Linux is the most secure but I had full SELINUX and they still destroyed my server running nginx mainline to the point I couldn’t log in with serial. I learned my lesson and switched the server to Windows because IIS has less flaws found in it and Windows has a lot more mitigation’s in it vs Linux. If anyone else follows me beware the guides online they lie about how to install WordPress on windows with IIS. What I like the most is security flaws will be kept secret until patch Tuesday for the entire OS so there isn’t a gap when people can exploit the server with known vulnerabilities like with Linux.

  • Security Update 138.0.7204.35

There’s a new release being built now and will be submitted to the Play Store and Github releases that fixes 3 security vulnerabilities. Interestingly enough Google says it takes up to a week for updates to be approved for production so it may make more sense to be on the testing branch if you need high security. Unfortunately I can’t make any releases until production is approved the way play console works so it will be up to a week for users to get the update if they don’t sideload or build themselves for Android. I contacted Accrescent to be on their store some time ago but didn’t hear back but hopefully they reach out and I can provide that as an option for more security conscious users.

  • 138.0.7204.29 Released on Github

Since submitting to production and waiting for google I decided to also do new builds for Windows and Android on GitHub. This release is much more branded than previous releases and does more to hide safe browsing prompts hopefully banishing them forever. Dankium isn’t allowed to use safe browsing so that’s why I use AdGuard DNS for anyone that’s wondering. The AdGuard DNS automatically blocks new threats like safe browsing. For anyone interested the release is here but for Android I suggest waiting for the Play Store release to come out to production.

  • Submitted to Play Store

Dankium is finally submitted to production on play store and should be available soon. I also am working on a new website.
